This position is responsible for providing basic and advanced police training to a variety of new and veteran police officers on a variety of topics in a highly structured, professional environment. The daily work environment involves close, sustained work with a small instructor team and larger groups of new and veteran officers in a highly structured, task-driven setting, teaching basic and advanced courses and evaluating performance on work that shapes Alaska law enforcement. Strong attention to detail, computer, writing, and critical thinking skills to evaluate and document recruit performance and activities Law enforcement experience in both urban and rural locations. Substitution: One year of experience as an Alaska Police Standards Council certified police officer in the State of Alaska may substitute for the State Trooper experience.
