Engineer / Architect 1 -$3,741.75 Biweekly (Non-OT eligible) Technical Engineer 1 / Architect 1 - $4,283.25 Biweekly (Non-OT eligible) What you will be doing: This professional engineering position specializes in the design and analysis of bridges and other transportation structures. The AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and of the AASHTO Guide Specifications for LRFD Seismic Bridge Design are used frequently for this work. Additionally, this statewide technical engineering specialist develops and applies bridge engineering techniques, approaches, and procedures. This position may perform federally mandated bridge inspections on an intermittent basis throughout the state ensuring structural adequacy and public safety. Who we are looking for: To be successful in this position, the selected applicant will possess the following core competencies: Structural Engineering : Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods related to the design and analysis of complex structures using a variety of materials. Structures may include aerospace systems or structures, and other determinate or indeterminate systems. Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving : uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one's knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary. Written Communication : Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience. Design : Knowledge of conceptualizing, developing, producing, understanding, and using plans, models, blueprints, and maps, including the use of tools and instruments to produce precision technical drawings, working prototypes, components, or systems.
