What You Will Be Doing:

In this role, you will have the ability to:

Play a key role in supporting over 200 employees and a $44 million budget through effective financial management.

Lead procurement efforts to ensure teams have the tools and resources they need to succeed.

Guide and support staff through personnel actions, helping foster a positive and efficient workplace.

Collaborate with another Administrative Officer 1 to manage approximately 100 positions each and provide backup support as needed.

Contribute to the success of high-impact areas like the Commissioner’s Office and IT section through your strong administrative expertise.

We are centrally located in beautiful downtown Juneau, close to shopping, dining, hiking trails, and the waterfront. This position is located on the 1st floor of the Alaska Office Building.

Oral and Written Communication:

Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience providing administrative support to a business or organization, business administration, public administration, finance, banking, accounting, industrial relations, marketing, human resource management, logistics and supply chain management, or a similar business field.

Special Note:

“Competencies” means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation.

“Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.
