Adjunct Instructor for CNA Program

The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Instructor is responsible for preparing students with the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors needed to provide safe, compassionate, and competent patient care as entry-level nursing assistants. This position teaches the hands-on skills only portion of the CNA program while fostering student success through high-quality instruction and curriculum development. The department is committed to developing skilled healthcare professionals who meet workforce needs and uphold the highest standards of patient care and professionalism.

Successful candidates will have a strong clinical background in nursing or healthcare, along with a passion for teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds. They should possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex healthcare concepts into engaging, hands-on learning experiences. The ideal candidate is committed to student success, collaborates effectively with colleagues, maintains current knowledge of healthcare practices and CNA standards, and demonstrates initiative in curriculum improvement and continuous program development. Flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment are essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

Licensed Registered nurse or Practical nurse

Two years nursing experience

One year of experience in the provision of long-term care facility services

Training or experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAS campus in Juneau. This is a part-time, temporary faculty position.
